First and foremost, we were shocked when we learned the amount of air pollution the standard mower releases during one season of mowing. One mower equals 43 NEW cars driving 12,000 miles a year*. All ELECTRIC equipment puts a huge ding in that number.
We also realize that when we use grid power to charge our batteries that is creating pollution. Which is why one of our goals is for our all electric equipment to be charged by solar power by the end of 2024 and electric vehicles by the end of 2027.
We’re young. And, the amount of noise traditional mowers and equipment create can actually have a lasting impact on our hearing. Plus, we’ve actually pulled up, done a house with our all electric equipment and they had no idea we were even there because we were so quiet! Not many lawn mowing businesses can make that claim.
Gas goes up! Gas goes down! But although all electric equipment is more expensive up front at least we know what it’s going to cost us to run our business.
We were blessed with clients and friends who helped us get started with traditional mowers, blowers, and other equipment. But, often times equipment would break down, carburetors needed to be cleaned, engines would quit, filters needed changed or belts would break. It was always something. We’re still in the early stages of using all electric equipment so we’ll see how durable it is but so far the prognosis is good for keeping maintenance to a minimum!
